Abstract

Latar belakang: Luka merupakan terputusnya jaringan tubuh yang disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, antara lain mekanik (luka sayat), fisik, maupun luka karena cedera kimia. Jika luka tidak tertangani dengan baik, maka dapat menyebakan infeksi yang parah bahkan kematian. Tanaman Dadap serep (Erythrina variegata) merupakan tanaman yang teridentifikasi mengandung komponen fitokimia yang melimpah, sehingga memiliki aktivitas biologis sebagai antibakteri, antiinflamasi, dan antioksidan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini dilakukan sebagai gambaran mendasar mengenai potensi fitokonstituen tanaman Dadap serep (Erythrina variegata) sebagai antibakteri, antiinflamasi, dan antioksidan. Metode: Desain penelitian ini menggunakan metode narrative review, dengan melakukan pencarian jurnal yang diterbitkan dari Google scholar, Science direct, dan Pubmed menggunakan kata kunci “Erythrina variegata AND Antibacterial AND Antiinflammatory AND Antioxidant.”, kemudian diseleksi berdasarkan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Hasil: Ditemukan 16 artikel yang akan dianalisis untuk dijadikan pembahasan dalam menjawab tujuan penelitian. Kesimpulan: Tanaman Dadap serep (Erythrina variegata) memiliki kandungan senyawa fitokimia yang beragam. Mayoritas penelitian menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut polar dan semi polar. Tanaman Dadap serep memiliki aktivitas biologis sebagai antibakteri, antiinflamasi, dan antioksidan yang tergolong baik dan kuat.

Background: Wounds are the disconnection of body tissues caused by several factors, including mechanical (incision), physical, and wounds due to chemical injuries. If the wound is not handled properly, it can cause severe infection and even death. The Dadap serep plant (Erythrina variegata) is a plant that has been identified as containing abundant phytochemical components, so it has biological activity as an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. Purpose: This study was conducted as a basic overview of the potential phytoconstituents of the Dadap serep plant (Erythrina variegata) as antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant. Methods: The design of this study used the narrative review method, by searching journals published from Google scholar, Science direct, and Pubmed using the keywords “Erythrina variegata AND Antibacterial AND Antiinflammatory AND Antioxidant.”, then selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: 16 articles were found to be analyzed to be used as a discussion in answering the research objectives. Conclusion: Dadap serep plant (Erythrina variegata) has a variety of phytochemical compounds. The majority of studies use maceration methods with polar and semi-polar solvents. The Dadap serep plant has biological activity as an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant that is classified as good and strong.
