Abstract
Background: The Implementation of Occupational Safety and Health is a form of effort to create a safe, healthy and prosperous work environment, free from occupational accidents and occupational diseases towards increasing productivity. One of the efforts made to control the high rate of work accidents is to use personal protective equipment. Personal protective equipment is the equipment to protect workers from potential work accidents while working. Personal protective equipment is one of the factors that can reduce accidents in the workplace. Objective: To determine the effect of Occupational Safety and Health education on compliance with the using of PPE on tofu factory workers. Methods: This type of research is Quasi Experiment using a two group design pre-test and post-test with control group design with a sample of 12 respondents. The instrument used was the observation sheet. The data were processed using the Wilcoxon test and the Mann Whitney test. Results: Based on the Mann-Whitney test, the compliance test using PPE found the Asym value. Sig. (1-tailed) is 0.014 where P value <0.05, which means there is a difference in adherence to the intervention group and the control group. Conclusion: It is concluded that there is an effect of providing the Occupational Safety and Health education on compliance with the using of PPE on tofu factory workers at Tidar Selatan Village, Magelang.
