Abstract
The increasing number of problems related to mental health is becoming a global epidemic. This is known based on data from the World Health Organization (2017), which reports that 322 million people worldwide experience depression and as many as 264 million people worldwide experience anxiety disorders. Based on the data above, with the large number of cases of mental illness sufferers throughout the world, an appropriate strategy is needed so that the number of cases of mental illness can decrease. One strategy is to improve health services, namely pharmaceutical services, in which pharmacy students have a major contribution in handling this case from an early age. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of stigma, attitudes and beliefs on the willingness of pharmacy students in Central Java to provide services to individuals with mental illness. This research is a quantitative correlational study with a cross sectional approach. Descriptive testing in this study used Microsoft Excel and hypothesis testing using Structural Equation Modeling -Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results showed that overall, the stigma, attitudes, beliefs and willingness of pharmacy students tended to be positive towards individuals with mental illness. Attitudes are proven to affect the willingness of pharmacy students in providing pharmaceutical services. These results are indicated by a T-value of 6,113 and a P-value of 0,000. Meanwhile, stigma and belief do not affect the willingness of pharmacy students to provide pharmaceutical services. These results are based on T-Statistics values of 1.249 and 1.480 and P-values of 0.212 and 0.140.
