Abstract
Diabetic wound is a chronic wound because of its unpredictable healing time. Wound care in diabetic wounds really needs to be considered because of the risk of infection so that it requires good treatment and care. Binahong leaves contain compounds that are useful in the wound healing process. Non-thermal plasma jet is a technology that has activity in wound healing. Binahong leaves are known to have activities in accelerating wound healing. Binahong leaves contain flavonoid compounds, saponins, tannins and alkaloids which have a role in wound healing. The aim of this study was to examine the combined activity of plasma jet non-thermal and binahong leaf extract in accelerating chronic wounds. This research method is experimental research. The steps that have been carried out include maceration of the binahong leaf simplicia powder with 70% ethanol which then freeze drying the thick extract until it becomes a powder extract. Binahong leaf spray preparations are made with a concentration of 1% with 10% DMSO solvent and 100% aquadest ad. Diabetic Balb / C mice were induced using STZ and then made full thickness chronic wound. After that, it was divided into 5 treatment groups, namely negative control dressing and DMSO, oxoferin positive control, non-thermal jet plasma exposure treatment group, binahong leaf extract, and combination of binahong extract with non-thermal jet plasma. Mice were treated for 14 days then the wound ratio was calculated and analyzed by ANOVA. The results of the analysis showed that the combination of binahong leaf extract spray and plasma jet exposure can accelerate diabetic wound healing in mice but it is not as effective as the use of oxoferin drugs and single use on plasma jet exposure due to a reduction in activity in plasma jet.
