Abstract
Primary infections in the oral mucosa cause white plaque oral candidiasis with the growth of candida albicans fungus, this cause the onset of dental caries due to the excessive buildup the plaque in the oral cavity, to prevent the infection shall used herbal based Mouthwash. The Erythrina subumbrans(Hassk.)leaf contain flavonoids, alkaloids, and tannins those are fungistatic could inhibit the growth of fungi. The purpose of this study to find out the fungal activity of mouthwash herbal to reduce white plaque, diffusion method shall be used for antifungal test with Mouthwash extract concentration of 0,005%, 0,010%, and 0,015%, positive control of listerine zero Mouthwash, and DMSO negative control. The data were analyzed using Kruskall-wallis Nonparametric test with a signification of 0,105 > 0,05 that the entire concentration was no difference signification and according to the variatons in the concentration of extracts dadap serep leaf not inhibit the growth of candida albicans. Positive control does not inhibit the growth candida albicans. The evaluation results of the three Mouthwash formulas meet the standards but there is no best formula with liquid characteristics, light green to clear dark, peppermint odor, pH of 6, type weight of 1,1, and viscosity of no more than 1.
